GPRS Settings
From the main menu, select Web Access > Select Web Sessions > Select New Entry or edit an Existing Profile
- Name: Safaricom GPRS
- Homepage: wap.safaricom.com
- Service Type 1 WAP
- Gateway IP 1/Proxy 1 172.022.002.038
- Port 1 9201
- DNS 1 remains as default (000.000.000.000)
- DNS 2 remains as default (000.000.000.000)
- Timeout select 5 minutes
- Speed (Bps) 1 9600
- Line Type 1 Modem
- GPRS APN safaricom
- User Name saf
- Password data
Press Done
Go back to web sessions, highlight Safaricom GPRS, press the menu button, and select set as default.
To browse, go to Web Access, Select Browser/Homepage.
MMS Settings
From the main menu, select Web Access > Select Web Sessions > Select MMS Session or New Entry or edit an Existing Profile.
- Name Safaricom MMS/MMS Session
- Homepage mms.gprs.safaricom.com
- Service Type 1 WAP
- Gateway IP 1/Proxy 1 172.022.002.038
- Port 1 9201
- DNS 1 remains as default (000.000.000.000)
- DNS 2 remains as default (000.000.000.000)
- Timeout select 5 minutes
- Speed (Bps) 1 9600
- Line Type 1 select modem
- GPRS APN safaricom
- User Name saf
- Password data
Go to Main Menu >Select Messages > Select Message Inbox > Select Setup (Select using the middle button)
Scroll to MMS Message Setup. Press Change
- Download Automatic
- Reply type MMS
- Server Info > Current server – Select Server 1/2/ or 3 (Select using the middle menu button)
- Select New
- Service Name Safaricom MMS
- Server Name mms.gprs.safaricom.com
- Web session name: Safaricom MMS/MMS Session
- Server Info should now appear as Safaricom MMS
Go back to MMS message setup screen – Select Use GPRS – Yes
Select Done
Highlight MMS Session-Press Top button(on top of Arrow)-Select Set Default
